Scott and Lorinda – Warrenmang Vineyard and resort

Yesterday saw Flame travelling to Warrenmang Vineyard and resort for the wedding of the lovely couple, Scott and Lorinda Hunter. The venue was in a town called Moonambel which took us on the Western Hwy past Ballarat then on to the Sunraysia Hwy past Avoca and past all those wind farms; the closest I’ve seen them so far. As it was a decent journey we left early with a few stops on the way for food and gas; as a band you never know with rural venues if you will be fed but we were well looked after in this case. Flame arrived at the venue at three, did a quick setup and sound check and then got to relax outside with a glass of refreshing water and a grand view of the vineyard. The weather was perfect and we were taken back by the silence of the country, being the city kids we are. The reception ran very well but was a tad late getting started but we caught up as the night progressed. The wedding was a small wedding with the guests totalling 50 but what they lacked in numbers they made up in crowd participation. The guests crammed that dance floor and it seemed to stay that way most of the night. Everyone seemed happy, which makes us happy as a band and having being referred to do this wedding by a previous one we had high expectations to live up to. At the end of the night we got a few more enquiries and a tentative booking for May next year for Megan, which is really the best compliment. The reception ended at eleven and we were on the road again by midnight. The drive back to Melbourne took just over two hours with the skillful driving of Michael and we’re thankful for not running into any wildlife but Michael did give way to a friendly rabbit crossing the road at the start of our drive. All in all it was fantastic night and we wish the couple all the best for the future.
